Who We Are

The UpRising is the youth group at Southland Bible Church. Youth group is anyone in 7th-12th grade, or 13-18 years old.

As society continues to fall further from what God has called us to, we want to start a movement in the young people of this generation to take a stand for Christ. In Romans 12:2, Paul urges us and says "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." We want to encourage our youth to change the way they think, to take a stand for Jesus and to think differently than the world around them. Taking this stand for Jesus in our schools, families, work places, and other spheres of influence will inevitably cause a disturbance in the cultural norms around us, which is why we call ourselves UpRising.

What We Do

We meet every Sunday at 10:00am for Sunday School. September through May, we also meet Wednesday from 7:00-8:00pm. Our retreats occur in the fall and winter; while Summer Camp occurs in June and July. There are numerous activities throughout the year from hiking to movies and even missions trips.
