The Pastors on staff at Southland all have one goal, to see people grow in their relationship with Christ. Our pastors are devoted to studying the Bible, prayer, and leading in humility.

Tim Miles

Lead Pastor

Pastor Tim and his wife Joy moved to from Michigan to St. George in 1985, where Southland Bible Church was born. After praying for someone to come to the area to plant a church Tim and Joy realized they were the people God was calling.

Pastor Tim has faithfully served the church for 33 years and has never wavered in his faithfulness to accurately preach and teach what the Bible has to say.

Pastor Tim is a graduate of Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music. He serves on the board of directors for Frontier School of the Bible and Tent Makers Bible Missions. Tim's passion for the truth and love for people is evident in his  service to the church body and the other organizations with which he is associated.

Dan Slyter

Dan and His wife Lorene have been faithfully attending Southland since 1991 after moving from Northern California.

As the church grew, the need for an someone to oversee the operations of the church arose. Southland saw in Dan the generosity and character of a man worthy of the calling, and in 1998 Dan joined the staff.

Dan is dedicated to serving the church.  Be it overseeing the maintenance and up keep of the facility, teaching and preaching, leading Bible studies, or meeting with people one on one. Dan has also been instrumental in the development and growth of our camp, Cedar Mountain Retreat (CMR). Like Pastor Tim, Dan also serves on the board of directors at Frontier School of the Bible.

Richie Gibson

Youth Pastor

After playing in a Christian band Pastor Richie felt the calling into youth ministry and has served as a youth pastor for more than a decade.

Richie me his wife Gregan while church planting in Lehi, Utah. Gregan went to Frontier School of the Bible to receive her biblical training and moved to Lehi to help with the youth ministry and lead music while Richie moved to Lehi to help with music and lead the youth ministry. Through ministering together they fell in love and have been serving side by side ever since. After 6 years church planting they moved to St. George and joined the staff at Southland. Southland is the church Gregan grew up attending and where she heard and understood the gospel. She is happy to be back at her home church, serving with her family.

Pastor Richie teaches the youth group, plays in the worship team for Sunday morning services, manages social media and visual media for the church, and is involved in all 5 weeks of Cedar Mountain Retreat (CMR) every summer.
