Pastor Tim talks about the characteristics of the truly religious. What does it mean when someone says they are religious? What is a true religion and what do real religious people look and act like? It’s interesting that the Bible only talks about the word religion in 3 places in the NT. two of them are related to false religions Acts 26:5 & Col 2:18 and one referring to a religion of truth James 1:26.
The World hates those who love the Lord, Why? Tim compares this situation with a well known QB Tim Tebow who plays for the Denver Broncos. Here you have a young man who’s a believer and is very clear about it. His lifestyle is different than others. He seeks to live and glorify God as he openly speaks about his relationship with Jesus Christ to others which has cause much controversy, why? There have been quotes that say you either love him or hate him. What has he ever done that someone would hate him? Is he a criminal? Has he hurt people? Is he in rebellion to his country, parents or his coaches? Has he disrespected women by an immoral lifestyle? Is he on steroids? Is he a poor role model for children? If he is none of these things, then why would anyone hate him? It’s interesting that so many mock and question his relationship with the Lord, but yet so many want to watch him play, is God at work here to reveal something? Is being a Christian real, does excepting Christ as your savior really make a difference in a person life, like it has with Tim Tebow’s?
It is the desire of Christ for us to stand out and be different than others. Tim answers all these questions and ends with a touching story of a Jewish boy that survives a mass German shooting. What does the boy find when he goes door to door looking for help from other Christians? Listen in…
