SBC – Privilege and Power of Prayer – James 5:13

Wouldn’t it be a privilege to talk with someone important today like the President and have them listen to your ideas about making things better? Actually we all have even a greater privilege than that… God created us to have fellowship with Him in the beginning. Unfortunately, that fellowship was broken in the Garden of Eden because of sin, but God wanted that fellowship restored by sending His Son Jesus to die in our place to pay for our sins. This restored fellowship is through the privilege and power of prayer that He has given to all as a release for Sorrow and Joy.

James tells us here in James 5:13, if anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.” God wants to hear about all your burdens and joys today. Listen in as Pastor Tim presents a message from James on the privilege to pray and to restore and maintain a strong relationship with God. We cannot do it on our own without God and the help of other believers as per the illustration below. God has provided us an open communication link on a frequency only God hears, try it sometime, it’s free and effective especially when you’re sincere…

SBC – Persistance in Prayer – Mat 7:7

Pastor Tim  talks about how we need to be persistent in prayer because when we make requests to God He answers our prayers (1 John 5:14-15). God answers prayers in the best way according to His will and sometimes that might be Yes, No or Wait awhile. Tim gives us 5 reasons in this message and explains why God might say No… (James 1:6-7, Psalm 66:18)

We can discover God’s will  through prayer. Therefore, we must be persistent and continue to seek the will God. Remember, If He is delaying the answer to your prayer. Without exception, there was always a good reason for what seemed like a delay.  (Mat 6:33)
