SBC – Who was the Christ – Mark 14:12

Pastor Tim talks about how Christians sometimes forget about the important sacrifices others have made in our lives. For example William Tyndell a 16th century scholar and translator who was jailed and later burnt at the stake to provide a New Testament translation of the Word of God in English. Just like William there were many others who sacrificed their lives and died in the name of Christ, but there is only one who died for the sins of all mankind and that was Jesus Christ. Tim explains the significance of the Passover meal and why Jesus chooses not to tell others about the time or which gate in the Holy City the Passover would occur. Why would Jesus tell his disciples to follow a man carrying a water jar to the location, when men didn’t generally carry them?  Tim explains this and the importance of why we come to communion.

During communion Dan and Carolyn Wiarda share their Testimony of how they come to know and trust in Christ alone.

If you are struggling with your sins today in this world, there is hope in someone who loves you and is waiting for you to cast all of your burdens upon Him. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” John 1:9.  Remember Jesus said “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” Revelation 3:20

SBC – Spiritual Health Problems – Mark 8:17

Pastor Tim talks about when we have spiritual heart trouble, not only does it affect us and our walk with God, but  it affects others around us. Tim explains that a hard heart is a dangerous thing and can sometimes lead to spiritual heart attacks when we focus on things that our not of God and let wicked thoughts, pride, strife and envoy toward others destroy our tender hearts (Mat 13:19).  We want God to expose what’s on the inside and not what’s on the outside. Therefore, we need constant Heart Therapy and testing as it says in Psalm 139:23-24 in order to test our hearts and minds to expose and convict us of our faults. The key to restoring a spiritual heart is found in understanding God’s Word, then to hide it in our hearts to build a wall of protection against sin (Psalm 119:11). We need to serve God because we love Him and to help lead others to Christ. Just as Jesus is constantly reminding his disciple’s to listen to Him regarding hypocrisy and sin, are we listening?

SBC – God’s Estimate Of Service – Mark 12:41

Pastor Tim explains a lot in this message in how it pertains to Judging others for their work and ministries in the Lord. Just because we can’t always see the fruits of others work for God, doesn’t mean that God can’t see them (Mark 12:43-44). Tim tells us that Christians will probably be greatly surprised when they get to heaven and see the works of the Lord by many we doubted here on Earth . Therefore, Christians must be careful not to criticize others for their work for God because their work might be wonderful in the site of Lord. We need to remember that God can take simple things or anyone and use them for for His purpose and it’s not up to us to Judge them. (Matthew 7:1).

Pastor Tim gives a wonderful illustration in his message of how something small can make a huge impact on lives.  It’s regarding the Germans and their bullet manufacturing that was used to bring down enemy aircraft. You must listen to the message to hear how God disrupts this process to save lives by using others.

Something to think about after listening today; “There is a saying, ‘Love your friends and hate your enemies.’ But I say: Love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way you will be acting as true sons of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust too. If you love only those who love you, what good is that? Even scoundrels do that much. If you are friendly only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even the heathen do that. But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. (Matthew 5:43-48)

There will be many rewards for those who offer their lives as a living a sacrifice unto the Lord and do His will (Romans 12:1-2). And with that, He will tell us when we arrive home “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share  your master’s happiness!” (Matthew 25:23)

SBC – Choose Everlasting Life – Mark 9:43

Pastor Tim talks about the most important choice we can all make in this lifetime and that is Everlasting Life.  He explains this and the reality of Hell and what extreme measure we should take to avoid going there. Even though there are many difficulties and choices we may face in this life, there is nothing that should stop us from choosing Eternal Life. We all have an important choice to make between Heaven or Hell. The Bible says that God is not willing that any would perish, but that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9, Luke 5:32). What choice will you make while He is near (Isaiah 55:6).

The Bible is clear about life after Death and the Judgement to come for all. “For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” (Hebrews 10:26-31) “And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27) “For the living know that they shall die; but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) “But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him!” (Luke 12:5) “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

SBC – Greatness in God’s eyes – Mark 9:33

Pastor Tim talks about what the World considers as greatness (i.e. Fame, Power & Wealth) versus what God considers and judges greatness by. Tim uses his father as an example in this message as someone who was committed to serving Christ his entire life.  God see greatness it all His Children when we serve and do His will.

One thing we should all remember today is, that you can’t find true satisfaction or greatness apart from God…

SBC – God’s Transforming Power – Mark 5:1

Pastor Tim explains that God’s transforming power is evident all around us. He likes to take worthless things and turn them into something valuable. There are many things that God has transformed here on Earth like carbon into diamonds, but the most important transformation of all is when He takes Human beings here on Earth who have no relationship with Him, purpose or hope for eternity and He saves them and gives them live and meaning. What a difference faith can make in our life’s…

“Lord, unbind me that I may love you wholly and walk in the freedom of your way of love and holiness.  May there be nothing which keeps me from the joy of living in your presence.”

SBC – Let There be Light – Mark 4:21

Pastor Tim explains what Jesus taught about the Parable of the Lamp. God said the World is in Spiritual Darkness. God sent His son into this World to give light to the World to show people who are seeking truth, a way to God and to Heaven. Not only has God provided this light for us through His son Jesus Christ, but He also wants His believers here on Earth to be lights in our community to help others find a saving relationship in Christ.  God’s light provides Power and Purpose in our lives. When He saved us from our sins, the Lord placed His light within us. He does not want us to hide the light away.  He wants us to allow His light to shine through our lives so that others might see the way to God.

The Lord reminds us that light holds the power to make hidden things plain. The light that Jesus came into this world to display not only reveals the hidden things of God to man; it also reveals the hidden things within man! That is why so many people who have heard the Gospel message have rejected it…

SBC – Spiritual Birth and Beyond – Mark 4:7

Pastor Tim discusses an important parable of Jesus “Sowing the Seed”.  He explains that the World is pictured as the Field and the Seed is like the Word of God we are to eat and plant. The seeds we plant  contain Life, so the more we plant the bigger the harvest will be. God asks us to go out and prepare His field and plant the seeds of life and He will continue Growing these seeds to prepare the fruit of  Salvation.

“So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; and should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.”  (Mark 4:25,27).
