SBC – Jesus, the Perfect Donor for the World’s Greatest Need – Easter Message

Pastor Bruce Miles returns back to Rocky Mountain Bible Church with an amazing story of how God provided a cure (i.e. Liver Transplant) for his spiritual disease. Listen in as Pastor Bruce shares a wonderful Easter parable of the experience he endured while battling his illness and how it relates to the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Christ. Maybe you have or know someone with a similar need today, which only Christ Alone can fill. Our prayer is that this message can provide the hope and peace to comfort your needs.

“For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die.  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Romans 5:6-10

You can watch the news story that was done on Bruce and Michael here as the Liver Transplant was split between both to live. http://www.9news.com/news/local/article/195108/222/Two-miracles-ages-and-miles-apart

SBC – Choose Everlasting Life – Mark 9:43

Pastor Tim talks about the most important choice we can all make in this lifetime and that is Everlasting Life.  He explains this and the reality of Hell and what extreme measure we should take to avoid going there. Even though there are many difficulties and choices we may face in this life, there is nothing that should stop us from choosing Eternal Life. We all have an important choice to make between Heaven or Hell. The Bible says that God is not willing that any would perish, but that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9, Luke 5:32). What choice will you make while He is near (Isaiah 55:6).

The Bible is clear about life after Death and the Judgement to come for all. “For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” (Hebrews 10:26-31) “And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27) “For the living know that they shall die; but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) “But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him!” (Luke 12:5) “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

SBC – God’s Temple a Work in Progress – 1Kings 6

Pastor Dan makes the comparison between the finished Temple of Solomon and the Temple of the Holy Spirit.

Something to think about today as you listen to Pastor Dan’s message on temples. When Jesus died on the Cross for our sins, He said “It is Finished” and the veil to the Holy of Holies was rent in twain from the top to the bottom (Matthew 27:51, Mark 15:38, Luke 23:45). The rending of the veil signified the end of the temple worship system.  “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.” (Hebrews 4:14-16, 6:19, 10:19-22).

SBC – Is God Fair to Judge All – Romans 2:12

Is it fair for God to judge people and send them to hell if they’ve never heard the gospel? This is probably the strongest statement from the hand of Paul that unbelievers ask Christians more often than any other. Pastor Tim explains this question and also God’s case against mankind.

Just think of how accurately God will judge every unbeliever! Each day of every life will be analyzed in minute detail. The hidden thoughts and motives of each hour will be replayed, along with all the actions and attitudes (Romans 2:16). The words spoken in secret will be made public, the intentions of the heart displayed for all to see. They will have no attorney to whom they may appeal, no loopholes by which they can escape. Nothing but bare, indisputable facts. The balance of justice will be so accurate that the pornographer will wish he had never published such material, the thief will wish he had earned an honest living, and the adulterer will regret that he lived an immoral life. Every court case ever tried on earth will be reopened: every action and motive will be meticulously inspected and just retribution meted out. (Ecclesiastes 3:17)

Examine your yourself today by taking the Good Person Test and see how God sees you according to His standard. (Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23). Those who believe in Christ experience mercy from the law; those who do not (either because they have never heard of Him or because they reject what they know of Him) will receive justice. Either way, God is glorified. (John 3:36)

“For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10)

SBC – Introduction to Romans – Romans 1:1

Pastor Tim gives an introduction to Paul’s writings to the Church of Rome and teaches four reasons from Paul why we can’t have Apostles in the Church today.

Qualifications of an Apostle of Jesus Christ:

1) Eyewitness account of the resurrection: 1Cor 9:1, Acts 1:22, John 15:27

2) Signs and powers of miracles of an Apostle: 2Cor 12:12, Hebrews 2:4, Acts 2:43

3) Direct calling from God and not Man: Luke 6:13, Gal 1:1, Mark 3:13-14

4) Receives knowledge and understanding directly from God and not Man: Gal 1:12

“The epistle to the Romans is the true masterpiece of the New Testament and the very purest gospel, which is well worth and deserving that a Christian man should not only learn it by heart, word for word, but also that he should daily deal with it as the daily bread of men’s souls. It can never be too much or too well read or studied, and the more it is handled the more precious it becomes, and the better it tastes.” (Martin Luther)

SBC – Extreme make over Christ Edition – Eph 2:8-9

We all get incredible free gift offers in the mail that end up not being free or not a gift at all. The gift of God is real and has no strings attached, but was very costly to God the Son. Listen as Tim teaches on what Paul reveals as the wonderful change that took place in the Salvation of the Ephesian Christians.

(Ephesians 2:8-9) “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Romans 4:4-5) “Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness….” (Romans 4:4-5).

Grace is well illustrated by the Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32).

SBC – Saved by Grace – Testimony

Listen to Frank & Dona’s touching testimony as they both share their life in a works based religion, but later by God’s Loving Grace both come to know and trust Jesus Christ as their Savior.

(John 8:32&36) “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free for sure.”

Matthew 7:15 warns us to “Watch out for false prophets. They come to us in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them”. The Bible teaches us as Christians that apart from the saving work of Jesus Christ on the cross we are spiritually “dead in trespasses and sins” (Ephesians 2:1,5) and are powerless to save ourselves, but by grace alone, apart from self-righteous works, God forgives our sins and makes us worthy to live in His presence (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-6). Our part is only to cling to Christ in heartfelt faith. The purpose of the atoning work of Christ on the cross was to provide the complete solution for humankind’s sinful nature. However, those who reject God’s grace in this life will have no part in this salvation but are under the judgment of God for eternity (John 3:36; Hebrews 9:27; 1 John 5:11-12). The Bible is the unique, inerrant, immutable and sufficient Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:1,2; 2 Peter 1:21) and that it will stand forever (1 Peter 1:23-25).
