Pastor Tim talks about Christians and Politics and how we need to look at the politicians heart and character when we vote since God ultimately holds us responsible for the choices we make in our political leaders (Jeremiah 18:6-8).
Tim also discusses the purpose of our Government and how Biblical Morality in our society today has fallen away from God authority and the nature of His laws (Romans 13:3-4). Tim tells us we should pray for our leaders daily and for peace in America since this is where we live.
Here is a good Christian movie to watch that describes our society today where Morals are being taught independent of God’s authority. Instead of letting God’s law sensitize us to the sinfulness of sin, we have instead let the World desensitize us and our children, so we now tolerate sin (Romans 7:13). Pastor Tim starts into a new topic on Christians and Politics. He explains the Sovereignty of God and the Freewill of Man and how they relate to political decisions. God’s Word tells us in Romans 3:1-2 that we are to submit to the governing authorities and trust in God’s decision. God’s Word also tells us in Daniel 2:21 & Proverbs 21:1 just like God set up Kings, He will take down Kings. Tim relates this to the story of King Saul in 1 Samuel 8 that tells a tragic story of a good peasant corrupted by having great power thrust upon him, against his own and the Lord’s wishes. As a result of disobedience, the Lord removed Saul from power. Tim also talks about how taxes where collected century’s ago by Kings and if people couldn’t pay taxes, their children were taken by the King and put to work for him in order to tax them.
“They made kings, but not through me. They set up princes, but I knew it not.” (Hosea 8:4)
