Tim looks at 3 points in this message regarding how to recognize a false faith. Is your faith real or just words, Is real faith just good wishes and Is real faith just worship…
Many Christians will profess they are followers of Christ, but are they and how can one recognize a counterfeit? How does one interrupt what James is saying in James 2:14 & 2:17 “If someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead” Some religions believe that Salvation is gained by keeping the whole law, so Faith without works is dead? Is this really true? Can someone really keep the whole law of God’s 10 Commandments without breaking even the simplest commands like lying, stealing, hatred or lusting? James 2:10 & Romans 3:23 indicate we have all fallen short of God’s law and are guilty before God. So what is the purpose of God’s law if no one can keep it and what does it reveal about our nature?

Tim also talks about Baptism and why when coupled with Salvation is just another form of works/wages – Romans 6:23. What is the real meaning and purpose of Baptism? If we are baptized, is there salvation or a life changing moment because of it or do we just leave wet and wonder what the effects might be when we dry off as per the man in the illustration?
Listen in as Tim answers all these questions today regarding a false faith, dangers of works without believing faith and the purpose of a biblical baptism apart from works.
We should remember today that the fruits of a real believer are shown by their walk and faith in Christ alone. Therefore, we should stop working for “righteousness”. Stop repenting for “righteousness”. Trust in God. Get Christ’s real righteousness. Then start bearing fruit for God.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, Not Of Works, lest anyone should boast.” Eph 2:8-9
