SBC Hate is not for God’s family _1John 2:7

Pastor Tim explains that if some one says they hate another Christian and then say they love God, they are wrong. God says it’s not possible to hate the body of Christ and love Him. People recognize us because we love each other.

1Jn 2:9 He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now.
1Jn 2:10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.

SBC Personal Evangelism Part 10

Have you had someone tell you God is unjust? How could a loving God send people to hell that have never heard about Jesus? Pastor Tim has answers to this question and more in the last lesson in this series.

Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
Rom 1:19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.
Rom 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

SBC Personal Evangelism Part 9

Pastor Tim covers things that people think they need to do to be saved such as water baptism. People will also share their testimony and say that they are saved because they have always believed. This is very confusing when they hear the gospel from one person concerning accepting Christ’s death to pay for our sins and another Christian telling them that they never made a decision for Christ that they have just always believed and they are saved because they always believed. Listen as Pastor Tim explains how we must be clear about how to be saved.

SBC Personal Evangelism Part 8 IPeter 3:15

Pastor Tim covers questions people often ask when we are sharing the gospel with them and how to be ready. If people say they have hope of heaven because of the good works, we can use Paul’s testimony. In Philippians, Paul lists all his credentials and says it got him nowhere concerning getting to heaven. Listen as Pastor Tim gives us answers to popular questions.

Php 3:4 though I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so:
Php 3:5 circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee;
Php 3:6 concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
Php 3:7 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.
Php 3:8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ
Php 3:9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

SBC Why I believe in Creation- Junk DNA?

Pastor Dan explains that scientists that believe in Darwinian evolution, assumed that when they observed genes that didn’t seem to have any function must have been ‘leftovers’ from other species in human history. They were wrong. Those non-coding genes are what makes all our organs work together. There is no such thing as ‘junk DNA’. We see God’s handiwork when we look at what God has created.

Job 12:7 “But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; And the birds of the air, and they will tell you;
Job 12:8 Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; And the fish of the sea will explain to you.
Job 12:9 Who among all these does not know That the hand of the LORD has done this,

SBC Walking in the Light 1 John 1:5-10

Pastor Tim explains that we can’t expect God to lead us down the pathways of life if we are not walking with Him. Tim explains what it means to walk in the light-
1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

SBC Christ VS Philosophy Colossians 2:8

The heresy of Gnosticism was coming into churches and Paul warned of the danger of this philosophy. The Gnostics taught that Jesus was not bodily resurrected. Paul warns them not to buy into the Philosophy of the time that Jesus was less than God. Col 2:9  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Listen as Pastor Tim preaches from Colossians chapter 2.

SBC Jesus is Reliable Matt Moore

In Matthew chapter 11 we see that John the Baptist is puzzled. We read- Mat 11:2 Now when John heard in prison about the deeds Christ had done, he sent his disciples to ask a question:
Mat 11:3 “Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?” John had declared Jesus to be the Lamb of God. If Jesus was the promised Messiah, why was John in prison- why weren’t things working out as John had anticipated? Pastor Matt explains our plans, our circumstances, our emotions have no bearing on the reliability of Jesus. Just like John we may not understand what’s happening or why something is happening but that doesn’t change the character of God or the plans he has for us.

SBC The Battle for Truth Colossians 2:1

A recent article says it has proof that the Bible is wrong. DNA results from ancient human remains in Palestine shows that the Canaanites were not wiped out as God said, they are actually alive in Lebanon today.They claim that this proves the Bible as false. The truth is that God told the Hebrews to wipe out the Canaanites but they didn’t do what God said- the Bible is true after all. The haters of God often distort the truth or give false information just to attack God and the Bible. Listen as Pastor Tim explains this from Colossians chapter 2.
