Are you a Good Person?

Do you consider yourself to be a good person? Most people do and
think they are good enough to get into heaven. However, most of us
differ on the definition of “good.” The Bible says that
God is good, and the
Ten Commandments are His standard
of goodness to show our sin nature. Jeremiah 17:9 tells us that
the human heart is mysterious and deceitful. We cannot know what lies at
the heart of our own nature and personality; it is beyond our ability to
penetrate and understand. Therefore, it is impossible to live a “Good
Life” or be a "Good Person" in the
sight of God because God defines goodness as His absolute perfection.
“there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” – Romans 3:12,
“there is no one righteous, not even one” – Romans 3:10,
“there is none good but one, that is, God.” –
Mark
10:18. “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory
of God” – Romans 3:23. If it is possible for us to get to Heaven by
living a good and upright life, then Jesus died for nothing... “I do not
set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through
the law, Christ died for nothing” -
Galatians 2:21.
Watch the following short video clip and
meet Mr. Nice Guy. See how God examines hearts through the use
of His law the 10 commandments. The law demonstrates to us our sin disease
and reveals our need for God and a cure through Faith and Trust in Jesus
Christ. "He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but
everyone to come to repentance" - 2 Peter 3:9.

So, are you willing to see how you measure up to
God's Standard, take
the Good Person Test below and examine yourself by the mirror, curb & guide
of God's Law and see how God really sees your heart...
The mirror shows us our flaws, but it cannot do
anything to erase or cover them (James 1:23-25).
The law shows us we are lost (Romans 7:7), but
it also points us to Christ (Gal 3:24) and His
plan of redemption for us (Romans 3:30). Until
you look into the mirror of the law, you will
never be made aware of your need of salvation
(Romans 3:20). Once you see yourself as you
really are, God will provide you with the
measure of faith necessary to draw you to
Christ. The reason the law will not pass away
is, there are always people who need to KNOW
they have done wrong and are under the penalty
of the law (1 Timothy 1:8-10). Once a person
obtains God’s salvation, the law is simply a
reminder of who they were before being made a
‘new creation” in-Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). A
beautiful butterfly is able to fly and defy the
law of gravity, but at one time it was a lowly
worm kept “grounded” by the law, it now is able
to overcome and be free to fly. If you remain
focused on the law, you will NEVER obtain the
salvation God has provided for you. (Hebrews
12:2)
God's standards are so high that
we cannot possibly hope to reach up to them. He considers Lust to
be Adultery (Matthew 5:27-28) and Hatred to be
Murder (Matthew 5:21-22). We are naturally
sinful and have turned our backs on God,
everything we do, no matter how good it might
seem to us, is tainted by that sin, if we do not
love God, then Paul says in his Letter: (Romans
8:6-8) "those controlled by their sinful
nature cannot please God" We all have a sin nature (Romans 3:23). When
we sin, we in essence commit a crime against God
and He blames us for our nature (John 3:4).

If you've been convicted by
God's law today and see
yourself in the mirror as a wretched sinner condemned by
the law, then maybe it's time to get rid of that old
sinful nature, so when you look in the mirror you can
see a new
nature in Jesus Christ (Romans 6:5-8). Break those chains
of bondage today (Nahum 1:13) and be set free from the
law of sin and death through Jesus Christ (John 8:31 &
36). (2 Peter 3:9) says that God is "not
willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." Receive Jesus Christ as Your Savior
and Lord and turn your life over to him today and become part of the Body of
Christ. (II Corinthians 5:17) says
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed
away; Behold, all things are become new." Today with all your heart, turn
away from your sin, and surrender your life to Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9). Please don't put it
off. You may die today as it says in (Hebrews 9:27) "it is appointed unto
men once to die, but after this the judgment" and then it will be too late.
Repent and put your Faith and Trust
in Him today before it's too late.

Romans 2:12 – "Is God Fair to Judge All"

Listen to this Podcast as Pastor Tim
discusses the topic is it fair for God to judge all people and send them to
hell if they’ve never heard the gospel? Just think of
how accurately God will judge every unbeliever! Each day
of every life will be analyzed in minute detail. The
hidden thoughts and motives of each hour will be
replayed, along with all your actions and attitudes
(Romans 2:16). The words spoken in secret will be made
public, the intentions of the heart displayed for all to
see. They will have no attorney to whom they may appeal,
no loopholes by which they can escape. Nothing but bare,
indisputable facts. (Ecclesiastes 3:17)
