Our Purpose at Southland
Every church is to be a gathering of the redeemed. It is a creation of God and the Body of Christ. Because of this, every church shares the same purpose.
The purpose of the church is to give glory to God.
This is a universal truth, but each church must answer for itself how it will go about giving glory to God. For our part, we embrace a threefold set of values.
Our Threefold Activity
To Worship the Lord
We purpose to openly and passionately engage our hearts in genuine worship, praise, and rejoicing. Whether we worship as one body or as individuals, we want our worship to honor the Creator for His overwhelming grace and mercy.
To Declare the Truth
We purpose to faithfully and consistently present the word of God. Whether in our church services, our group studies, or personal contemplation, we want to know the Word of God and through it deepen our relationship with our Savior.
To Love the Saints
We purpose to unconditionally and sacrificially love one another. Whether we exhort, encourage, protect, or hold accountable, we want sincere love to permeate our prayers, our fellowship, and our relationships with one another.
